Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a patient records technician to initiate and maintain medical records in systemized formats, including computerized records, within the Women's Health Center. This role supports billing/financial and clinical administrative operations and performs additional duties as assigned.

The position emphasizes accurate documentation, computer proficiency across medical record systems, and adherence to completeness standards to ensure continuity of patient care.

Qualifications

• Clear and effective written, oral, and verbal English communication.
• Ability to write legibly and record information accurately.
• Six months of medical records experience in a patient care setting.
• Basic computer literacy and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the importance of the patient medical record.
• Demonstrates computer proficiency in all software systems used in the medical record department.
• Demonstrates an understanding of medical record completeness for the continuation of patient care.
