Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, patient registration, insurance verification, copay collection, pre-certifications, prior authorizations, referrals, chart prep, and managing faxes.

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in a medical office or billing department preferred.
• Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology helpful.
• Excellent keyboard skills and accuracy essential.
• Proficiency in Windows-based computer environments and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Greets and communicates with patients in person or by phone in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
• Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
• Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
• Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity.
