Job description

We are Better Life Partners, a company dedicated to healing addiction across all settings. We partner with community-based organizations to deliver virtual and in‑person counseling, support and medication to help people move beyond addiction toward belonging, love and purpose.

The role

In this role, you will interact with members and families, referral sources, field staff, and partner organizations. Working alongside licensed substance‑use and mental‑health counselors, you will help members follow individualized recovery journeys. Your support will enable members to receive quality care within their communities and help improve outcomes.

The role combines telehealth and potentially in‑person care at partner sites. Working hours are 8:30 am–8:30 pm Monday‑Friday and 8:30 am–5:00 pm Saturday. This is a remote position with possible hybrid care; candidates must reside in market unless otherwise agreed.

What you will do

• Perform medical evaluations and initiate medications for OUD and AUD
• Diagnose and treat medical and mental‑health complaints at a primary or urgent‑care level
• Co‑facilitate group therapy and medical‑education meetings with a licensed counselor
• Demonstrate and communicate the core values of Better Life Partners
• Participate in research and data‑collection efforts with community partners
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on case management and care coordination
• Adhere to professional and ethical work standards
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations
• Attend and engage in regular training and company meetings

You are a good fit if you have

• Maine license as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant
• Active DEA registration in states where you hold a license
• Several years of experience in addiction medicine or psychiatry, primary or urgent care
• Strong affinity and compassion for people and communities suffering from addiction
• Willingness to travel locally within Maine
• Excellent time‑management and strong attention to detail
• Extremely strong work ethic
• Team player with an "all‑hands‑on‑deck" attitude, organized and able to multitask
• A flexible, proactive and inquisitive approach to improving care delivery processes
• Extensive experience with electronic health records; experience with telemedicine
• Willingness to obtain cross‑licensure in other states where we operate (reimbursement provided)

It will also be great if you have

• Additional state licenses in New Hampshire, Vermont, and/or Massachusetts
• Live within commutable distance to our Portland/Scarborough office
• Availability for weekend and/or evening shifts

Work location requirements

BLP operates in hybrid and remote environments. Candidates must be willing and able to travel locally within the communities served and to attend on‑site meetings as required.
