The role involves emergency care within licensure, training, and SOPs, plus working knowledge of operations across the plasma center. You will ensure cGMP compliance and regulatory guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a healthcare-related program.
• Current state license/certification required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work variable shifts (days/evenings/weekends/holidays).
• 1 year of hospital, field care, or plasma center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments and informed consent per SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Review and document donor information, immunization records and test results in NexLynk.
• Classify donors into programs and monitor for adverse reactions; provide care per training/licensure.
• Consult with center Licensed Physician on abnormal results and immunization orders.
• Counsel deferred donors and refer to health departments when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as logs and eligibility assessments.
• Train as Donor Center Technician I and serve as QA Backup when needed.
• Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer.

Additionally, the position ensures compliance with SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all relevant regulatory guidelines.

Job Summary

This Is What You’ll Do

• Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
• Review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk).
• Classify donors into appropriate programs and monitor for adverse reactions, providing care as allowed by training and licensure.
• Consult with the center Licensed Physician regarding abnormal results, donor eligibility concerns, and immunization orders.
• Counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as Physician Communication Logs and donor eligibility assessments.
• Train as a Donor Center Technician I and serve as a QA Backup when needed.
• Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer to support workforce development.
• Support center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure an efficient, donor-focused environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This Is What It Takes

• Physician, LPN, or RN: Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related program.
• EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced/Paramedic: Certification or license as an emergency medical technician, if allowable.
• One (1) year of experience in hospital, field care, or plasma center settings preferred.
• Ability to work day, evening, weekend, holiday, and extended shifts as needed.
• Current, valid state license/certification (Physician, RN, LPN, EMT, or equivalent as allowed by state).
• Current CPR certification.
• State-issued authorization or license to perform moderate complexity testing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motor tasks such as drawing blood.
• Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as necessary.
• Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable).
• Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
• Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
• Ability to view monitors less than 18” from face for extended periods.
• Ability to work in environments as cold as -40°C and handle dry ice occasionally.
• Ability to perform CPR and respond immediately to donor adverse reactions.

Pay Transparency

The expected base pay for this position is $28.47 $37.96 $47.45. Please note this wage range reflects what Octapharma Plasma expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and other relevant factors
