Job summary

Siemens Healthineers AG in Prescott, AZ seeks a Medical Physicist-in-training to observe and assist in radiation oncology services under a qualified medical physicist. You will support patient safety, dosimetry, QA, and radiotherapy planning while gaining clinical competency. AA or BS degree required; CAMPEP Residency candidate preferred.

Located or willing to relocate to Prescott, AZ or surrounding area. Position offers access to Siemens Healthineers' resources and a collaborative hospital

Responsibilities

  • Develop personal program of self-study and clinical competency with guidance from the medical physics clinical staff.
  • Contact with employees and physicians in radiation oncology and the public requiring professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and interventional planning.
  • Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
  • Clinical duties include observation in Radiation dosimetry calibrations and measurements.
  • Linear accelerator quality assurance.
  • Radiation safety measures.
  • Radiotherapy treatment planning.
  • Fabrication and quality assurance of radiotherapy treatment aids such as immobilization devices, custom blocks, custom compensators, bolus, etc.
  • Low dose rate and high dose rate brachytherapy dosimetry and quality assurance.
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery dosimetry and quality assurance.
  • Intensity modulated radiotherapy dosimetry and quality assurance.
  • Participate in the educational and scholarly activities of the program.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees and councils, especially those related to technical, safety, and patient care activities.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, guests and all members of the healthcare team, in a professional manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all Varian policies and procedures and local cancer center policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASE PAY RANGE

The base pay range for this position is: $87,040 - $119,680. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.

Position must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this position.
