Job summary

IHA in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Medical Physicist to join the radiation oncology team. You will perform dose calculations, design treatment aids, and ensure accurate machine parameters for daily patient treatments.

Ideal candidates hold an MS/PhD in Medical Physics or related field, are board certified or eligible, and have 2+ years of clinical therapeutic radiation physics experience. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, Physics, or related discipline.
  • Board certified, or board eligible; if board eligible, board exam passed within 24 months of hire.
  • Two years of experience performing therapeutic radiation physics in a clinical setting.
  • Experience with Truebeam, CyberKnife, Tomotherapy, Flexitron HDR; Eclipse, Precision and Oncentra treatment planning; Mosaiq EMR.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning resource allocation including equipment usage, staffing, budget preparation.
  • Perform calibration of treatment machines and maintenance of related data.
  • Oversee imaging equipment performance and maintain quality assurance programs.
  • Develop treatment protocols and validate dose delivery accuracy with QA processes.
  • Consult with Radiation Oncologists on physical and radiobiological aspects of treatments.
  • Collaborate with regional physics team to improve processes.
  • Provide on-site support to regional sites as needed.
