  • Ability to supervise staff and provide consultation to physicists and dosimetrists.

Responsibilities

  • Develops equipment specifications for radiation therapy and radiosurgery equipment, brachytherapy, simulation and radiation detection.
  • Plans shielding to protect patients and staff from radiation.
  • Participates in acceptance, evaluation and commissioning of external-beam therapy systems and related software.
  • Evaluates radiation therapy and radiosurgery treatment equipment on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation rules for radiation therapy equipment.
