Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH is seeking a Medical Physics leader to supervise dosimetrists and radiation therapists in treatment planning and to provide clinical physics support on-site. This full-time role requires a Master’s or Doctorate in Medical Physics with 2–3 years of clinical experience in planning for 3-D conformal, IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT.

Proficiency with RayStation and planning systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Medical Physics or Doctorate in Medical Physics required.
• Clinical experience 2-3 years in radiation therapy physics.
• Experience in treatment planning and planning systems, particularly RayStation.
• Knowledge of radiation physics, radiobiology, and radiation safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the oncology team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 3-D conformal, IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT treatment planning and provide general medical physics support.
• Provide clinical physics coverage, commissioning, upgrades, testing, and QA of treatment equipment.
• Perform chart checks, treatment planning consultations, and routine physics responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Mass General Brigham main campus and satellite facilities.
• Generate records for quality control, calibration, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in patient chart reviews, image fusion, dose verification, and plan reviews.
• Maintain awareness of new methods and developments in the field.

YesEssential Functions: 3-D conformal, IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT treatment planning and general medical physics support.-General medical physics support will include, but is not limited to, regular clinical physics coverage, participation in commissioning, upgrade, repair, acceptance testing, monthly and annual QA of treatment equipment.-Clinical trouble shooting, initial and weekly chart checks, treatment planning consultation and other routine clinical physics responsibilities.-Participate in developmental efforts on various clinical physics projects and collaborate with the main campus and other satellite facilities.-Assist with generating proper records and correspondence pertaining to quality control and quality assurance, calibration, radiation safety and compliance with state and Federal regulations and standards of accrediting bodies.-Actively participate in patient chart checks (initial, continuing, and final) and treatment plan reviews, image fusion, dose calculation verifications, and special physics consultations as requested by physicians.-Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments.QualificationsEducation Master's Degree Medical Physics required or Doctorate Medical Physics required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
