Contract | One-Time Project, Ongoing Work Likely
We are seeking a hands-on packaging production designer with real-world experience working directly with manufacturers and printers to design medical product packaging that is production-ready, dimensionally accurate, and compliant with labeling requirements.
This role is focused on execution, not consulting. You will take manufacturer-provided dielines, Pantone color specs, and labeling requirements and produce print-ready artwork for multiple packaging formats and sizes.
Scope of Work
- Primary bag/pouch labels (multiple sizes)
- Unit folding carton artwork
- Shipping carton label
- Instructions for Use (IFU) layout
- Apply manufacturer-provided:
- Pantone color standards
- Dielines and structural layouts
- Barcode / UDI placement rules
- Labeling content and regulatory text
- Prepare print-ready mechanicals for overseas manufacturing
- Manage proofing cycles with supplier/printer
Required Experience
- 3+ years in packaging artwork / print production / regulated product packaging
- Proven experience designing:
- Flexible packaging (pouches/bags)
- Folding cartons
- Shipping carton labels
- Strong knowledge of:
- Dielines & packaging mechanicals
- Print tolerances, bleed, and safe zones
- Pantone / spot color workflows
- Barcode and variable data fields (LOT/EXP/DOM)
- Experience working directly with manufacturers or print vendors
Required Tools
- Adobe Illustrator (packaging production level)
- Prepress / print PDF workflow experience
- Bonus: Esko ArtPro, PackEdge, or similar packaging software

- Production-ready AI files and prepress PDFs
- Final artwork for all packaging sizes and SKUs
