Job summary

Mountain View Eye Center, a progressive ophthalmic practice in Fairbanks, Alaska, seeks a Medical Optometrist to join a high-volume, patient-centered team and enjoy Alaska’s adventurous lifestyle.

In this role you’ll provide comprehensive optometric care, co-manage with fellowship-trained ophthalmologists, evaluate and treat diverse ocular conditions, document medical histories, educate patients, and help deliver outstanding eye care.

Qualifications

• OD degree required and Alaska licensure eligibility.
• 1–2+ years medical optometry experience or residency preferred.
• Experience in medically focused or surgical co-management valued.
• Commitment to patient care, teamwork and continual growth.
• Ability to educate patients and collaborate with specialists.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive optometric care to a diverse patient population.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists in a co-management model.
• Evaluate and manage a wide range of ocular conditions.
• Complete medical histories and create treatment plans.
• Educate patients on conditions, treatments, and eye health.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
