Job summary

ReFocus Eye in Hartford, CT is seeking a dedicated Medical Optometrist to join a collaborative, medically focused team alongside experienced ophthalmologists and clinical staff.

The role emphasizes comprehensive eye health and disease management, not routine refractions, with the option to work 1–2 days at a nearby office location. You will diagnose and manage ocular diseases, provide advanced contact lens services, and contribute to patient education and high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited program
• Active or eligible state licensure in Connecticut
• Experience in medical/clinical optometry setting

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose/manage ocular diseases
• Provide advanced contact lens services including scleral and hybrid lenses
• Develop individualized treatment and management plans to optimize visual outcomes
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, technicians and administrative teams to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients on ocular health, treatment options and preventative strategies
• Maintain precise medical documentation in compliance with standards
• Stay current with advancements in optometric care and diagnostic technologies
