Eyes in Glendale, AZ, is seeking an Optometrist to join a busy ophthalmology and optometry practice with a strong patient base. You will inherit a high-volume schedule and ongoing patient relationships from day one.

The role emphasizes comprehensive medical eye exams, ocular disease management, and co-management of surgical patients, with a focus on patient education and long-term ocular health.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted Arizona optometry license.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage high patient volume while maintaining care quality.
• Experience with electronic medical records; ModMed preferred.
• Commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-volume comprehensive medical eye examinations with patient education.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration.
• Prescribe corrective lenses, contacts, and therapeutic treatments as appropriate.
• Co-manage pre- and post-operative care for ophthalmic surgical patients.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, plans, medications, and preventive eye care.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using ModMed EMR.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, technicians, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Deliver exceptional patient experiences through professional communication.
• Stay current on advancements in medical optometry and ophthalmic technology.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an Optometrist to step into a busy, well-established ophthalmology and optometry practice with a strong patient base. With the current provider departing after more than a decade, you will inherit a thriving, high-volume schedule and longstanding patient relationships from day one.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct high-volume comprehensive medical eye examinations with a focus on patient education and long-term ocular health
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and vision conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration
• Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments as appropriate
• Co-manage pre- and post-operative care for ophthalmic surgical patients
• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventative eye care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation utilizing ModMed EMR
• Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience through compassionate and professional communication
• Remain current on advancements in medical optometry, treatment protocols, and ophthalmic technology

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted Arizona optometry license
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills
• Ability to efficiently manage a high patient volume while maintaining quality of care and patient satisfaction
• Experience with electronic medical records; ModMed experience preferred
• Commitment to providing outstanding patient-centered care
• Previous experience in a medical or ophthalmology practice preferred, but not required
