Job summary

American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators seeks a Medical Ophthalmologist (MD/DO) to join a busy, well-established ophthalmology and optometry practice in Flagstaff. Inherit a thriving, high-volume schedule and long-standing patient relationships from day one, with a focus on 100% medical ophthalmology plus cataract and Lasik opportunities.

The ideal candidate has an MD or DO, completed ophthalmology residency, board certified or eligible, and Arizona license (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree required.
  • Completion of an Ophthalmology residency.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology.
  • Active Arizona medical license or ability to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical ophthalmic evaluations and treatment.
  • Diagnose and manage glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, AMD, and other ocular diseases.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and in-office procedures.
  • Interpret OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and imaging.
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians and subspecialists.
  • Educate patients about diagnoses, treatments, and ocular health.

Medical Ophthalmologist (MD/DO)

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Medical Ophthalmologist to step into a busy, well-established ophthalmology and optometry practice with a strong patient base. With the current provider departing after more than three decades, you will inherit a thriving, high-volume schedule and longstanding patient relationships from day one. Ideal for physicians seeking a 100% medical ophthalmology practice along with Cataract and Lasik Surgery

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical ophthalmic evaluations and treatment with a focus on preserving vision, managing ocular disease, and delivering exceptional patient care
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of ophthalmic conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye disease, ocular surface disease, cataracts, and other anterior and posterior segment pathology
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medical therapies and in-office procedures as appropriate
  • Interpret diagnostic testing including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other ophthalmic imaging modalities
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians, retina specialists, glaucoma specialists, and cataract surgeons to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, disease prevention, and long-term ocular health
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation utilizing EyeMed EMR
  • Collaborate closely with optometrist, ophthalmologist, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Deliver an exceptional patient experience through compassionate, professional communication and patient-centered care
  • Remain current on advancements in medical ophthalmology, treatment protocols, and emerging technologies
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency Program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Active and unrestricted Arizona medical license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage a high patient volume while maintaining quality of care and patient satisfaction
  • Experience with electronic medical records; ModMed experience preferred
  • Commitment to providing outstanding patient-centered care
