Job summary

UPMC Altoona, part of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network, is seeking a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join our growing Altoona team. The fourth physician in a busy practice, you will deliver high quality care and participate in clinical trials.

This role features a $500K base with wRVU bonus, a $25K signing bonus, partnership track with no buy-in, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, pension, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Board certification/eligibility in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology required or soon-to-be-certified.
• PA medical license required or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Strong clinical skills and commitment to high-quality patient care.
• Willingness to participate in clinical trials and multidisciplinary care.

Responsibilities

• Join a busy medical oncology/hematology practice as the fourth physician.
• Deliver outpatient and inpatient medical oncology/hematology care.
• Administer chemotherapy and coordinate supportive care in clinic and hospital.
• Share on-call duties with physician colleagues and collaborate with APs, nurses and pharmacists.

Join a growing program in the world renowned UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Altoona!

UPMC Altoona is currently seeking a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join our UPMC Hillman Cancer Team! We are seeking physicians with excellent clinical skills, interested in delivering high quality care and participating in numerous clinical trials available throughout the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network. Successful candidates should have or be able to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license and be board certified/board eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology. Candidates requiring a J-1 visa waiver or H-1B sponsorship following a J-1 waiver are welcome to apply. Salary and benefits are highly competitive and commensurate with experience.

The candidate will join as the fourth physician in a busy medical oncology practice in a spacious, new center on the UPMC Altoona hospital campus, offering the latest medical oncology treatments and clinical trials. Physicians in the practice are well supported as part of an integrated, physician-led network of clinicians. Work with an experienced team of medical oncologists/hematologists, advance practice providers, specialized oncology nurses, lab, pharmacy and support staff. Enjoy unprecedented growth in a practice that includes outpatient and inpatient medical consults, chemotherapy, lab and supportive therapy visits. Care is provided in the clinic and hospital Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. On-call coverage is shared between physician colleagues.
