Job summary

A Plus Urgent Care in Menifee is seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Specialist to manage the front office and keep the practice running smoothly. You will greet patients, process registrations, schedule visits, and coordinate with providers to maintain on-time schedules.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and one year of administrative medical office experience, with knowledge of medical terminology and basic calculations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of administrative medical office experience required.
  • Medical Terminology and basic mathematical calculations, basic computer knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of medical clinic functions (scheduling, billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, ICD9 and CPT4 coding, patient procedures, medical records) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients cordially and maintain a courteous relationship.
  • Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient visits per guidelines.
  • Check-in/out process and assist providers to stay on schedule; alert patients of delays.
  • Handle insurance authorizations and ensure patient charts are accurate.
  • Review patient registration forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; work Tue-Fri 11:30am–8:00pm and Sat 8:45am–5:00pm (schedule may change).
  • Attend mandatory meetings as required.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Specialist for our Menifee location. This position is responsible for overall functioning of the medical office.Duties include but not limited to:

  • Maintains a cordial and courteous relationship with patients. Always greets patients with a smile.
  • Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient visits based on established guidelines.
  • Check in / check out process. Assists providers to stay on schedule. Alerts patients of delays.
  • Insurance authorizations. Ensures that all patient charts are prepared with the utmost accuracy.
  • Reviews patient registration forms for accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work schedule is Tuesday-Friday 11:30am - 8:00pm and Saturdays from 8:45AM-5:00PM.
  • Schedule may change based on business needs.
  • Must attend mandatory meetings.

Qualifications

Experience/Training/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year administrative medical office experience required.
  • Medical Terminology and basic mathematical calculations, basic computer knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of medical clinic functions (scheduling, billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, ICD9 and CPT4 coding, patient procedures, medical records) preferred

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Current BLS/CPR certification required.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Profecient in using office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone system.
  • Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment.
  • May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary
