Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Medical Office Receptionist in Arlington Heights to provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors. Medical Office Receptionist – Neurosciences

Hourly Pay Range: $18.38 – $26.65

• Position: Medical Office Receptionist – Neurosciences
• Location: Arlington Heights, IL
• Full Time: 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday
• Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (Day shift)
• Required Travel: No

What you will do:

• Greets incoming patients and visitors at various points of service within the facility providing congenial and hospitable customer service. Refers patients and visitors to appropriate department or resource. Notifies appropriate resource of patients and visitors arrival in a timely manner. Assures patient demographics and eligibility are correct.
• Receives and forwards telephone calls and takes and relays messages per protocol.
• Registers new patients and schedules appointments for providers and services. Reschedules appointments and follows up on cancelled and missed appointments.
• Collects co‑pays and balances and makes follow up appointments as necessary.
• Responds to patient and visitor questions in a timely and appropriate manner utilizing knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures.
• May communicate with other departments, team members, physician offices, the hospital, or patients in response to requests for information, follow‑up, or problem resolution.
• Performs various clerical duties as needed in assigned work areas. May order supplies for work area, open mail etc. Operates standard office machines including computer, calculator, photocopier, fax and credit card terminal.
• May assist with medical records and clinical personnel as needed.
• Maintains work and waiting areas in a neat and professional manner.
• May perform a variety of special projects as assigned.
• Adheres to all NCH standards, policies and procedures.

What you will need:

• Education: Level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: One year of customer service work experience or interaction with the public required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Proficient computer skills.

RN – Medical ICU

• Position: RN – Medical ICU
• Location: Naperville, IL
• Full Time: 36 hours/week
• Hours: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am (Nights) with rotating weekends and holidays
• Required Travel: No

What you will do:

Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures. Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations. Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff. Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by assigned unit or shift.

What you will need:

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing

Required Education, Skills and/or Experience:

• 2 years of RN critical care experience
• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
  • If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date.

Required License and/or Certification:

• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
• Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association BLS
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months of start date into position
