Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Medical Office Associate for the Contingency Pool. The role involves front-desk duties, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and day-end reconciliation on behalf of core staff in a team or independent setting.

The ideal candidate will work well in a team and alone, with a required eight-week introductory training. Punctuality and completion of training are emphasized for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of customer service experience preferred.

The Medical Office Associate of the Contingency Pool will be expected to perform the following duties throughout their designated assignments: check patients in and out of appointments, schedule follow-up appointments, verify insurance, complete referrals, collect co-pay, and complete end-of-day reconciliation while acting on behalf of the core staff. The MOA should anticipate completing administrative duties as assigned by the host office.


The ideal MOA for this position will be able to work within a team environment and independently. With each assignment, it will be expected that the Medical Office Associate will meet not only the Contingency's Pool expectations but also those of the assigned office. It is important to be punctual and the 8-week introductory training course must be completed in full, absence during initial training is discouraged.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Six (6) months of customer service experience preferred
