Job summary

Gunbarrel Veterinary Hospital in Boulder, CO is seeking a Medical Lead Veterinarian to champion medical excellence, mentor the DVM team, and partner with the Practice Manager to build a healthy, engaged hospital.

You will lead monthly doctor meetings, oversee mentorship programs, drive EBITDA and service quality, and help recruit top talent while maintaining a compassionate, team‑oriented culture in a thriving community.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and active state license
• Minimum 2 years of practical clinical experience
• Servant leadership mentality and collaborative approach
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Understanding of hospital financials and operations (or willingness to learn)

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the DVM team, conducting regular performance discussions and coaching on development goals
• Role model the highest quality of medicine, client service, and efficiency while practicing as an associate veterinarian
• Drive hospital performance with annual operating plans, EBITDA targets, and regulatory compliance
• Foster a culture of growth by leading doctor meetings, supervising externships, and championing recruitment
• Act as an ambassador for the hospital and Mission Pet Health through community engagement
