Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Travel) for a contract role at a facility in Royal Oak, MI. The MLS will handle routine and complex lab testing, evaluate quality controls, and ensure accurate reporting of results.

Travel may be involved, with a first shift from 7:00 to 15:30 and a contract duration of 5+ months. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 2–4 years of clinical lab experience, a State Medical Technologist license, and ASCP or AMT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent meeting local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
• 2–4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.
• State Medical Technologist license.
• ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Determine specimen acceptability based on established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper function.
• Make technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and quality controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain and restock testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and use appropriate PPE.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent meeting CLIA & State requirements

State Medical Technologist license

ASCP or AMT certification

Pay Range/Salary Range: $2100 - $2300 Weekley

Job Description:
