Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress in Cypress, TX is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician to perform tests on samples to aid diagnoses, with independence and supervision as needed.

You will assist in departments, perform testing, proficiency testing, quality control, maintain instruments, and report results, with a focus on accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or medical technology/clinical laboratory science/MLT/CLT from an accredited program.
• Qualified under CLIA guidelines for MLT/MLS or MT/MLT; certification must be acquired within one year of hire.

• Calls and documents critical values.
• Performs Quality Control as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Utilizes Medical Technician skills and training to perform test of samples of blood, urine and other body fluids to obtain information utilized in diagnosis and evaluation of a patient’s medical situations. Performs laboratory tests and procedures, which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with supervision.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or medical technology/clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory scientist (MT/CLS/MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT/CLT) from an accredited institution Qualified under CLIA guidelines for MMT/CLS/MLS or MLT/CLT
• 1 year clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training
• ASCP or AMT MT/MLT or equivalent certification or be currently eligible to sit for MLT or equivalent certification exam preferred. Certification must be acquired within one year of hire.
