American Health Associates in Saint Louis, MO is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for full-time, on-site work. You will perform a full range of laboratory testing across hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and chemistry, reporting results to physicians and adhering to CLIA standards.

The role requires an associate degree or higher in a relevant field, plus clinical lab experience and certifications (ASCP/AMT preferred).

Qualifications

• Completion of qualified medical laboratory science program or 3 years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience required.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• 2-4 years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Associate degree in biological science or chemistry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce and report laboratory results in hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and automated chemistry.
• Perform quality control data and document results.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation as prescribed in procedures.
• Call critical results to physicians.
• Manage inventory and maintain department supplies.

The role

AHA's Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing and reporting laboratory findings to physicians. The skills requirements for a Medical Technician include Occupational Specific, Technical Skills, Personal and Professional. AHA's MLT must meet the personnel responsibilities per CLIA Sec. 493.1495: Standard Testing personnel responsibilities.
