HMC Laboratory in Ohio is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures with strict quality control across all sections of the clinical laboratory. You will troubleshoot instruments, interpret results, and report issues to the leadership team.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or an Associate degree with MLS/MLT certification eligibility, and one year of MT/MLS

Formación

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• ASCP or AMT board eligibility is required or preferred.
• One year experience as MT/MLS is preferred but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform all routine and specialized laboratory procedures with strict quality control.
• Troubleshoot instruments and procedures; interpret results and escalate issues to leadership.
• Instruct non-laboratory personnel on proper specimen collection methods.
• Maintain stock of supplies and assist leadership in evaluating new procedures and instrument changes.

ASCP or AMT Board eligible

The Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist (Lab Tech) is directly responsible to the Laboratory Leadership Team for performing all laboratory procedures, quality control and maintenance in all sections of the clinical laboratory; solving instrument and procedure issues; making quality control decisions; recognizing abnormal versus normal results; instructing non-laboratory personnel on methods of specimen collection; obtaining blood specimens by proper methods; bringing problems with the above to the attention of laboratory leadership; consulting with providers and/or supervisors on problems with clinical specimens or results; maintaining stock of supply and reagents; assisting laboratory leadership and other laboratory personnel in evaluating new procedures; recommending instrumentation changes.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited program.
• ASCP or AMT Board eligible*
• One year experience working as an MT/MLS preferred.

*Individuals without ASCP/AMT certification qualify as MLS I. Individuals with ASCP/AMT certification qualify as MLS II.*

OR

• Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• ASCP or AMT Board eligible*
• One year experience working as an MLT preferred.
