Job summary

The Med Lab Tech 2 position at Baylor Scott & White Health in College Station TX involves performing and monitoring a full range of laboratory testing, with responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and equipment maintenance under minimal supervision.

Ideal candidates will hold ASCP MLS certification or equivalent generalist credentials with at least 2 years of hospital experience and a background in laboratory operations and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• ASCP MLS or equivalent generalist with at least 2 years of hospital experience.
• Education: Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Certifications: CLS/MLT certification may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication with laboratory personnel and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and teaches laboratory practices and technical skills to others.

• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): Must have one of the following certifications: MLT or CLS.
