Medical University of South Carolina is hiring Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) to support high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical setting. The role involves preparing specimens, performing routine tests, QC, troubleshooting instruments, and assisting with staff training.
Qualified candidates hold an Associate degree in MLT, ASCP BOC certification, and at least one year of clinical experience. This is an Employee, PRN position with 12 weekly hours in a hospital lab.
Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) support high quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. MLTs prepare specimens for testing, perform routine laboratory tests, perform quality control and maintenance procedures, recognize computer data problems, troubleshoot laboratory instruments, communicate technical information to medical and lay persons, assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures, participate in continuing education, recognize normal and abnormal values, and model Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities. (MLT I <1 year experience and MLT II >1 year experience)
