Job summary

The Natchitoches Regional Medical Center seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to provide clinical laboratory services, including examinations, proficiency testing, quality control, instrument maintenance, and validation, under supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

The role oversees phlebotomists and trainees, with all work supervised by Laboratory Manager or a Medical Laboratory Scientist, and offers competitive benefits and opportunities within NRMC’s collaborative laboratory team.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science required.
• State licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technician—Generalist required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory examinations and proficiency testing.
• Conduct quality control and instrument maintenance/validation; testing management and validation.
• Provide professional consultation and supervision under the Laboratory Manager/ML Scientists.

The Medical Laboratory Technician provides clinical laboratory science services, including performance of clinical laboratory examinations, proficiency testing, quality control, professional consultation, instrument maintenance and validation, testing validation, testing management, and other functions toward the attainment of these goals, with all high complexity testing being performed under the direct supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist. This position oversees the work of phlebotomists and trainees. All work is performed under supervision by the Laboratory Manager or a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
