Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP BOC) or equivalent; if not certified, certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing as assigned.
• Recognize unusual results and resolve discrepancies.
• Establish work priorities and handle multiple procedures simultaneously including troubleshooting instruments and other problems/issues.
• Maintain knowledge of all current SOPs required to work effectively.
• Develop, draft, revise SOPs, training documents, validation/verification plans, test cases, and validation/verification summaries.
• Maintain excellent communication with the Department and other Laboratory Services personnel.
