Job summary

ERP International, LLC is seeking full‑time Medical Laboratory Technicians to support David Grant Medical Center at Travis AFB, CA. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm. The role involves performing a wide variety of laboratory tests and ensuring quality control and safety.

Requirements include graduation from an approved MLT program, minimum 1 year experience, current ASCP or AMT certification with BLS, and a government background check. Pay scales from $42.20 to $42.75 per hour apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of laboratory tests either manually or using automated instrumentation
• Evaluate quality control information against measurable criteria in the performance of laboratory tests
• Receive written requisitions for laboratory tests
• Obtain laboratory specimens and instruct staff on proper specimen collection
• Observe test reactions, changes of color, or formation of precipitates; study or subject specimens to automatic analyzing equipment to make qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Bring to the attention of the supervisor any unusual or grossly abnormal test result
• Perform light general cleaning of work areas and related tasks
• Participate in QC and CAP proficiency testing programs
• Adhere to infection control procedures and PPE usage
• Participate in training and continuing medical education
• Ensure safe work environment and safe work habits
• Assist with training laboratory staff and programs
• Participate in frozen blood program tasks

Job Specific Details and Tasks:

• Perform a wide variety of laboratory tests either manually or using automated instrumentation
• Evaluate quality control information against measurable criteria in the performance of laboratory tests.
• Receive written requisitions for laboratory tests.
• Obtain laboratory specimens and instruct staff on proper specimen collection.
• Observe test reactions, changes of color, or formation of precipitates; studies or subjects treated specimens to automatic analyzing equipment to make qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Bring to the attention of the section supervisor, pathologist or general laboratory supervisor any unusual or grossly abnormal test result.
• Perform light general cleaning of work areas such as collection of trash, autoclaving of specimens, cleaning of bench tops and light dusting.
• Participate/perform the prescribed QC and CAP proficiency testing (PT) programs.
• Adhere to infection control procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and proper disposal of waste.
• Participate in required equipment, in-service training and continuing medical education.
• Ensure safe work environment and employ safe work habits.
• Assist with training laboratory staff and training programs.
• Participate in frozen blood program, performing tasks related to glycerolization and deglycerolization of blood.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Technician program

Experience: Minimum1 year experience

License/Certification and Training: Current certification through ASCP or AMT, BLS.
