Job summary

Washington Regional Medical Center seeks a Medical Laboratory Tech I to perform routine and special testing in a fast-paced lab environment. You will work with CLIA-waived and non-waived procedures, report results, and help maintain equipment and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
• Eligible to take ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification exam and must pass within one year of hire date.
• 1 year of medical laboratory experience preferred.
• CLIA regulatory knowledge (waived and non-waived testing) and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform CLIA waived and non-waived testing according to approved procedures.
• Perform, verify, and report laboratory results according to guidelines.
• Identify issues affecting assay performance and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct analyzer maintenance, calibration, and quality control.
• Assist with reagent and supplies inventory and clerical tasks as needed.
• Support training of students and new employees.

This position is responsible for performing routine and special testing in different areas of the laboratory.
