Job summary

Geisinger Medical Laboratories is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to perform analyses from various specimens, ensure high-quality patient care, and maintain instrument performance. You will work in a clinical setting with adherence to QA/QC protocols and participate in ongoing competency assessments.

The role requires a BS in Medical Technology with certification (ASCP/NAACLS) or an equivalent path with ASCP certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or equivalent and successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology program
• Alternative path: BS in a biological/chemical/clinical lab science with ASCP certification
• Two years' experience as an MLT or equivalent in a clinical lab

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports analyses from multiple specimen sources to support patient care.
• Maintains productivity and adheres to quality control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
• Replenishes reagents and supplies per established protocols.
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees.
