Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Perform and report various analyses from multiple specimen sources.
  • Provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain an expected level of productivity and manage multiple work processes efficiently.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Handle specimens properly, confirm identification and suitability, and use appropriate accessioning procedures.
  • Recognize discrepancies on patient orders, resolve and report problems and solutions as appropriate.
  • Perform and record instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
  • Replenish reagents and supplies according to established protocols.
  • Follow established reporting procedures, both computerized, verbal, and manual.
  • Navigate and access multiple computer applications as needed for job functionality.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
  • Participate in educational activities to maintain current knowledge in the field.
  • Successfully complete initial and subsequent competency exams.
  • Work is performed in a clinical environment and complies with all organization policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program ORmajor in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science and ASCP categorical certification ORat least two years' experience equivalent to a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory.
  • Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience (preferred).
  • Certification(s) and license(s) relevant to laboratory work (e.g., ASCP certifications, military clinical laboratory qualifications).
