Responsibilities

• Performs qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using automated instrumentation or manual methods.
• Conducts QA procedures including quality control testing, instrument checks, and calibrations; maintains documentation and investigates deviations.
• Assesses accuracy of results and maintains records for patient care inquiries.
• Troubleshoots instruments and documents corrective actions; may assist in instructing staff and students.
• Performs phlebotomy and order entry; provides customer service to lab customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using automated instrumentation or manual methods.
• Performs established quality assurance procedures including quality control testing, instrument function checks, and calibrations; maintains documentation and investigates deviations.
• Assesses accuracy and validity of results by applying relevant scientific principles; recognizes changes critical to patient care and identifies probable causes for irregular and atypical findings.
• Maintains records of tests, examinations, and final results for record functions and inquiries related to patient care.
• Troubleshoots instruments and resolves technical problems whenever possible; documents corrective actions and reports issues to the department supervisor or manager as appropriate.
• Might assist in instructing students and laboratory personnel in diagnostic tests and examination principles and techniques.
• Performs phlebotomy according to established protocols.
• Performs order entry and specimen receipt; provides customer service to all laboratory customers.
• May assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements
