Job summary

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field and at least three years in a clinical lab, with ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical laboratory required
• Three (3) years of experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelor’s degree, or five years with an Associate’s degree or Military Laboratory Technician program

Responsibilities

• Independently performs responsibilities of MLS I, MLS II and MLS III
• Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multidisciplinary patient care services team
• Assists leadership with interviewing, orienting, training and supervising
• Collaborates with leadership to identify gaps and opportunities for development and strategic initiatives
• Assists leadership in identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues
• Responsible for regulatory and accreditation agency preparation and participation
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Primary Responsibilities

• Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department.

Work Experience

Education & Experience - Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical laboratory required or; an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or completion of Military Laboratory Technology with a minimum of five years of experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelor’s degree, or five years of experience in a clinical laboratory with an Associate’s degree or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program required.

Education & Experience - Preferred

• Licensure/Certifications: ASCP or equivalent preferred.
