Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Med Lab Scientist 2 for the College Station, TX laboratory. The role involves performing and monitoring a full range of lab tests with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures.

Ideal candidates have ASCP MLS certification and at least two years of hospital experience, along with strong quality control and instrumentation skills. This is a PRN, variable shift in the Lab department with a focus on teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• ASCP MLS certification or equivalent generalist with at least 2 years of hospital experience.
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods and technical skills to others.

Job Summary
