Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Med Lab Scientist 2 for a nights schedule (Wednesday–Saturday, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM) at BSW-Frisco on PGA campus. The role covers a full range of lab tests, quality control, and instrument maintenance under minimal supervision.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant certifications; hospital and blood bank experience are preferred. Immediate benefits, PTO from day one, and a collaborative team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience
• One or more certifications from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or other listed bodies required or preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in accordance with procedures and regulations.
• Follows QC, QA, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains inventory of supplies.
• Communicates effectively with laboratory personnel and external customers.

Job Summary

The Med Lab Scientist 2 performs and monitors a full range of lab tests and research. Assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions of the Role

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods and technical skills to others.
