Job summary

UVMMC - Medical Center - Main Campus in Burlington, VT, seeks MLS I–III level professionals to perform and report diagnostic tests with solid QC and troubleshooting skills. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in biological science or chemistry and MLS certification, with a 1.5 weekends per month weekend commitment and a 20-hour standard work week.

The position is part-time and benefits-eligible, within a bargaining union environment.

Qualifications

• Medical Laboratory Scientist certification.
• Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and QC.

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Basic laboratory skills, maintenance, QC, and troubleshooting abilities. Understands the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/instrument issues increase through the range of MLS I to MLS III.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in biological science or chemistry and Medical Laboratory Scientist certification.

WEEKEND SCHEDULE:

Weekend commitment is 1.5 weekends per month.
