Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for Lenexa, KS, Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM. The role includes night (15%) and weekend (10%) shift differentials and a starting pay of $28.00+ per hour, with opportunities for performance bonuses.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, analysis, result reporting, and compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA. Requires BS in a related field or equivalent and 1 year high-complexity experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year clinical experience in high-complexity testing preferred.
• BS in Medical Technology or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; or AS in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology preferred.
• MLS, Medical Laboratory Scientist credentials are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems or notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Pay range: $28.00+ per hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
