Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for the Kokomo, IN location, with Monday to Friday shifts from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The role targets entry to experienced technologists and offers a competitive pay rate of $24.03+ per hour.

Responsibilities include performing specimen handling, analyses, reviewing results, and maintaining quality records in CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA-compliant fashion. A BS in Medical Technology or related science is preferred, with 1 year of clinical experience

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or related science preferred.
• Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology acceptable.
• Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.

Responsibilities

• Follow specimen handling and processing procedures and maintain patient test records.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow policies when test systems are out of performance range.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Qualifications

Education

BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493

Work Experience

1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred
