Job summary

Geisinger Medical Laboratories in Wyoming Valley is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist for an evenings shift. You will perform and report analyses from multiple specimen sources and contribute to high-quality patient care in a state-of-the-art clinical lab.

This full-time position offers a $12,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, comprehensive benefits from day one, and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or ASCP/NAACLS-accredited program.
• ASCP/NAACLS certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports analyses from multiple specimen sources.
• Maintains instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and QC records.
• Assists in training new employees and supports competency exams.
• Ensures accurate specimen accessioning and patient ID checks.
• Works within established reporting procedures and lab systems.

This position qualifies for a $12,500 SIGN ON BONUS for eligible candidates Job Duties: Performs and reports various analyses from multiple specimen sources. Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.

• Participates in educational activities to maintain current knowledge in the field.
• Successful completion of initial and subsequent competency exams required.

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program OR;
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification OR;
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory

• Position is 11a-730p on weekdays and full second shift every other weekend. It is also 3 holidays per year on full second shift.
