Job summary

Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist on a Per-Diem basis with 8-hour, variable shifts. The CLS will handle specimen processing, test performance and result reporting while providing clerical and patient-care support in a compliant laboratory environment.

The candidate must have a Science degree, California CLS license upon hire, at least 1 year of clinical lab experience, and meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform tests with accuracy and timeliness.
• Report test results and provide clerical/patient care support.
• Work in one or more laboratory sections according to procedures.
• Stock supplies, clean and maintain work area and equipment.
• Adhere to Laboratory and Organizational policies and quality standards.

Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance in Torrance, CA. This position is Per-diem and will work 8-hour, Variable shifts.

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting, and clerical and patient care support services. The CLS provides service in one or more sections of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, precision and timeliness and ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Service is provided to patients of all age groups: premature infants, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young, middle and older adults. Non-technical duties include taking supply inventories, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining work area, equipment and instrumentation. The CLS provides service in a safe and professional manner and works within the established policies and procedures of the Laboratory and the Organization.
