Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Tuesday–Saturday night shift (12:00AM–8:30AM). Base pay starts at $24.03 per hour with potential shift differentials of 10% (second shift) and 15% (third shift).

Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses. Responsibilities include performing moderate/high complexity tests, maintaining records, and ensuring quality and compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Pay range: $24.03+ per hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended.

Performtest procedures of moderate/high complexity requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility in those specialties in which they are qualified by education, training and experience.

Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
