Job summary

Patient First in Stafford, VA is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to perform rapid, quality lab analyses, specimen processing, and instrument maintenance in a high-volume center. You will assist physicians and nurses, manage test results, and ensure accurate records while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 semester hours of college with related courses (chemistry, biology, medical lab techniques) or an associate/bachelor in chemistry, biology, or clinical/medical laboratory science.
• One year of documented technician training in a formal program for testing performed.
• Fifty-week Military Medical Laboratory Procedures course; Military specialty as Medical Laboratory Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality and rapid lab results with adherence to proper procedures and safety guidelines.
• Follow procedures for specimen collection, handling, processing, reporting and records.
• Assist Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient treatment and care including vital signs and triage.
