Medical Lab Technologist - PRN/As Needed

Position: Medical Technologist

Location: Fort Myers, FL

Schedule: PRN - Weekends + as needed

Compensation: $37.00 per hour

Sign-on Bonus: $3,750

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior quality in all that you do and treat others as you wish to be treated.
• Be a results-oriented team player who is resourceful in overcoming obstacles and an inventive problem solver.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all areas of laboratory services provided, including pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processes.
• Utilize computer skills for ordering, accessioning, and resulting quality controls and patient results.
• Utilize pre-analytical skills for phlebotomy, preparing and evaluating specimens.
• Follow laboratory protocols for daily instrument preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibrations, quality controls and proficiency testing with documentation.
• Perform patient testing and recognize factors affecting results.
• Access patient reports for accuracy using delta checks and notify the nursing unit of critical results.
• Monitor inventory and report inadequacies to the Lab Manager.
• Complete annual educational requirements, continuing education and maintain licensure.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Successful completion from a School for Medical Technology (Clinical Laboratory Scientist).
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology - Required
• Current certification from one of the following: ASCP, AMT, ABB, NCA, or another approved agency.

Preferred qualifications that will make you successful:

• One (1) year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
