Qualifications

  • ASCP or equivalent MLS/MLT certification preferred.
  • Eligibility for state licensure as applicable.
  • Current training in biosafety and infection control procedures.
  • BLS certification preferred in hospital-based settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests on patient specimens.
  • Process, label, and store samples according to lab protocols.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers.
  • Perform and document quality control and participate in proficiency testing.
  • Validate, interpret, and accurately report test results in the LIS.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, faculty, and students in a teaching environment.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards (CLIA/CAP).
  • Assist with training of students and new staff on lab procedures.
  • Support research and educational initiatives through accurate data generation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities.

Responsibilities include processing and analyzing specimens, operating and maintaining laboratory analyzers, performing quality control, and accurately documenting and reporting results. The role collaborates with clinicians, faculty, and students in a teaching hospital environment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while supporting innovative research and evidence-based clinical practice.

Key Duties
  • Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests on patient specimens
