Job summary

Stoughton Health in Wisconsin seeks a Medical Lab Technician for per-diem coverage to join our team. Responsibilities include specimen collection, analysis and reporting of lab results in line with standards.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree in MLT, current MLT/CLT/ASCP certification and BLS at hire. Per Diem shifts, minimum 2 per month, support a collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician required.
• Current MLT, CLT, ASCP certification.
• Current BLS certification at hire.
• Basic computer skills; intermediate MS Office; able to format, create Word/Excel files, write formulas and prepare charts.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood and other specimens from patients per hospital procedures.
• Perform clerical duties for the Laboratory.
• Operate equipment, perform procedures and report results per policies.
• Participate in quality assurance programs.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Job Requirements

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Medical Lab Technician to join our team on a Per-Diem basis. The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for specimen collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical laboratory results in accordance with established standards.

Essential Functions

• Collection of blood and other specimens from adult, pediatric, and infant patients in accordance with hospital procedures
• Performs clerical duties for the Laboratory
• Performs skilled laboratory procedures, operates all equipment, and reports results in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Participates in the implementation of the quality assurance programs
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Position Requirements

• Required Education: Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician
• Licensure: Current MLT, CLT, ASCP Certification
• Certification: Current BLS at hire
• Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected; Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Intermediate; Able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas and prepare charts for reports

Work Shift

Per Diem, .01 FTE. Minimum of 2 shifts per month.
