Advocate Health's Winston Campus in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for first shift with rotating weekends and holidays. This full-time role requires maintaining accuracy in patient test results and adhering to QC/QA procedures while ensuring safety and compliance.

Preferred qualifications include an Associate degree and MLT (ASCP) certification, with prior lab experience valued. Exposed to clinical lab environment and need for ongoing education and certifications.

Pay Range:

$24.10 - $36.15

Position Highlights :

• Shift Schedule: Full-Time, 1st shift w/rotating weekends & holidays.

How You'll Impact Patient Care:

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient laboratory test results.
• Ensures quality of test results by following defined Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
• Ensures safety and compliance.
• Maintains appropriate education to accomplish work objectives and maintain current certifications as applicable.
• Ensures productive and efficient operations of the section and department.
• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.

Education & Experience:

• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician preferred.

Licensure, Certification and/or Registrations:

MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
• Technical ability and interest.
• Computer and keyboard skills preferred.

Work Environment:

• Exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens or patients.
• Exposed to risk of bloodborne/airborne disease.
• Must wear protective equipment (gloves, gowns/lab coats, eye protection, face protection).
• Exposed to hazards for electrical/mechanical/power equipment.
• May be exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens.
• May be exposed to toxic/flammable/explosive chemicals and gases.
• Subject to injury from moving parts of equipment.
• Moderate noise environment.
• Subject to injury from sharps.
• May require judgment/action which could result in death of patient.
• Subject to many interruptions.
• Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
• Subject to stressful situations.
