Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, Indiana seeks a Laboratory Technician to perform Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Immunology and Microbiology testing in a hospital laboratory. You will receive and process specimens, record results, monitor quality, and alert clinical teams to abnormal findings, ensuring timely, accurate results and regulatory compliance.

Education: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; Certification within 1 year preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
• Certification within 1 year preferred by a nationally recognized registry.
• Clinical laboratory experience of 6 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Immunology and Microbiology.
• Prepare specimens, record results, verify quality, and communicate critical results to care teams.

What you'll do:

• Performs technical laboratory functions including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Immunology and Microbiology testing. Receives and processes specimens, examines specimens and records test results. Analyzes results using knowledge of test principles and clinical significance. Analyzes test quality per established performance standards. Provides test result information to approved callers and alerts appropriate personnel to abnormal test results for immediate action.

What you'll need:

• Education: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or military training equivalency or equivalent
• Licensure: Certification within 1 year of employment preferred by a nationally recognized professional registry.
• Experience: Clinical laboratory experience of at least six months is preferred
