Job description

Overview

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, performs laboratory testing in various sections of the laboratory, conducts control testing, and initiates troubleshooting for problem areas. The following statements describe the principal functions of the job and are not an exhaustive list of all work requirements.

Qualifications

Education: A.S. degree in MLT / B.S. degree in Medical Technology, or a degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with clinical training from an ASCP-approved school.

License/Registration or Certification: Registered by ASCP preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Competency in laboratory technology components, effective verbal communication with patients and clients, numerical ability for calculations, and visual acuity for color spectrum tests.
