Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II (MLT) to perform routine tests on blood, tissues, and other specimens, delivering high-quality results using various laboratory equipment. The MLT must uphold patient safety and confidentiality across all procedures.

Essential functions include testing, specimen evaluation, quality control, and maintaining equipment. Requires an AS in Medical Lab Technology or equivalent, with three years of lab experience and MLT certification or

Qualifications

• Must have an AS in Medical Lab Technology or equivalent plus MLT certification.
• Three years of clinical laboratory experience.
• 60 semester hours including chemistry and biology or completed military medical lab training within past ten years.
• If registry eligible, certification within 12 months from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine analytical tests on biological specimens with quality results.
• Assesses specimen acceptability via visual checks and abnormal results.
• Performs quality control and ensures calibration before releasing results.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and monitors equipment temperatures.
• Other duties as assigned.
