Job summary

Kettering Health Miamisburg is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician I to perform routine lab tests and specimen collection to support patient care. The role requires an associate degree and internship experience, with eligibility for MLT certification within 6 months of hire.

The position is PRN, daytime shifts, with focus on accuracy, safety, and adherence to regulatory standards in a hospital laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a clinical laboratory internship or equivalent practical experience.
• Eligible for certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP or AMT; must obtain certification within 6 months of hire if not already held.

This role is responsible for specimen collection, test analysis, and maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with regulatory and safety standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program. Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from an accredited institution; completion of a clinical laboratory internship or equivalent practical experience. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship or equivalent practical experience as part of an accredited program. Eligible for certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized accrediting agency such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT); must obtain certification within 6 months of hire if not already held.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field. One to two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. State licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician, if applicable.
