Job summary

Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend, WA is looking for a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). The position requires an associate’s degree at minimum, with bachelor’s preferred, and certification through MLT/MLS programs. Responsibilities include specimen preparation, quality control, and working independently with healthcare providers.

The salary range is competitive at $33.90 - $66.35 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, and a 403b plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree preferred with training to include the completion of a certified MLT/MLS program.
• MLT/MLS certification by ASCP, AMT, AABB or equivalent organization required.
• Minimum of 3 years Generalist experience in a hospital laboratory including Blood Banking and phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, evaluate, process and prepare specimens for testing.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance.
• Maintain instruments and troubleshoot as needed.
• Coordinate assigned testing activity with laboratory personnel.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients.
